Every family deserves the dignity and safety of a clean toilet, yet 3.4 billion people still lack safely managed sanitation. For millions, the only option is an unsafe pit latrine or “long drop” toilet, exposing children to disease, danger and indignity. UNICEF describes sanitation as “essential to children’s survival and development”, as poor sanitation leaves children vulnerable to illness, malnutrition and lost opportunities. A safe household toilet is far more than a convenience—it is the foundation for health, hope and a brighter future.

During visits to our partner communities, we have seen these conditions firsthand. Deep, unstable pit toilets put young children at risk, while overflowing pits attract flies that spread disease. The World Health Organization warns that inadequate sanitation contributes to diarrhoeal diseases, cholera, typhoid and intestinal worms, causing hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths each year.

 

Your sponsorship will provide a family with their own safe, private toilet at no cost to them, together with practical advice, guidance and ongoing support. This simple yet life-changing gift will improve health, restore dignity and help reduce the spread of preventable disease.

 

You will receive a personalised certificate and, once the toilet is complete, a photograph of the family proudly standing beside the toilet you made possible—a lasting reminder of the lives your generosity has changed.
