These entrenched issues result in sickness and death for many. For example, every two minutes a child under five dies of diarrhoea. Children are missing the opportunity to hear about the saving grace of Jesus. Web want to address this injustice, one family at a time, until everyone has access to safe drinking water, sanitation and good hygiene.

PURE provides an innovative Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) intervention.
​
Through the intervention we encourage long-term behavioural change in three ways:

Health - who wouldn't want their family and themselves to be healthy? We have met with a large number of women in The Gambia who have all expressed this wish, they are highly motivated to participate in WaSH.

Wealth - As health increases they spend less money on medicines, less money on trips to clinics and less money on bottled water.

Education - Children no longer suffer with symptoms of contaminated water, poor sanitation and poor hygiene, so they miss less school and education improves.

this is all done in the name of Jesus and enables local churches to share the eternal living water that only Jesus can provide.
PURE Water filter
Sponsorship programme
Transform the lives of a family forever by sponsoring a Water, Hygiene & Sanitation (WaSH) intervention. WaSH is proven to dramatically improve health, wealth and education. The holistic intervention includes a Water filter, that removes almost 100% of bacteria and protozoa from any water source. We provide training in its sustainable use and hygiene and sanitation awareness. At 50p per month to supply a family with 2,000 litres of safe water a day water for 10 years, we know of no better value for money preventative intervention. In 2022, before our intervention in rural Gambia, 95% of 3,500 people were ill due to waterborne disease, poor sanitation and hygiene, just eight weeks later 95% were well.

The intervention is delivered by our local partners and is given free of charge to families with open wells or no wells. All families in the villages are invited to receive the intervention irrespective of age, gender, background, or faith (those of all faiths and no faith), we do not discriminate.

The intervention consists of supplying an innovative water filter system, training the recipients in its correct use, and raising awareness of hygiene, and sanitation:

S - Sanitation. Providing education about such basic matters as where to defecate and where not to

H - Hygiene awareness. Stressing the importance of washing hands

AMOR uses a mobile application to accurately track the impact of the project on the family’s health, wealth, and education. We capture baseline information at the point of distribution, this is repeated a further three times - at 8 weeks, 6 months and finally at 12 months. This process not only ensures sustainability for 10 years, but it also allows the local partners to build long-term relationships with the families.

You will be putting safe water into the mouths of children and their families. This is all done in the name of Jesus and enables local churches to share the eternal living water that only Jesus can provide.

You will receive updates to your mobile phone at the point of distribution and post a number of completed follow-ups. You will see a picture of your family and the impact your investment has made on their health, wealth and education.
